Welcome to Vermont!!
I am very excited about getting this program and blog started!
Contributors: please begin by posting a brief introduction. What are your hobbies and interests? Why are you participating in this exchange? What would you like to share about your home region? Over the next week, please post images of housing and the environment in your home region.
I have e-mailed each of you a list of potential research topics separately. Please begin a dialogue with each other about the topics that interest you most. You will be asked to work in pairs to make sense of just one of these topics during our program next month.
My background: I am the Executive Director of Green Across the Pacific (GATP). We organize and implement Environmental Leadership Exchange Programs, primarily in North America and Asia. I have a background in biology and education. I taught in public and private high schools for 20 years. I founded GATP in 2000, and now work both for GATP and Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. My wife and I are raising two boys. One is a sophomore at the University of Vermont, and the other is a freshman at our local high school. In addition to my work, I enjoy music, reading, biking, cross-country skiing, gardening and cooking.
